Different Forms Of Racing

Racing has taken a number of different forms, including foot, dog, horse, airplane, boat, car, motorcycle and bicycle. The object in any form of racing is to win. Being the fastest is what makes a champion. Coming in second rarely counts.

We know from painted pottery that the foot race was a popular event with the ancient Greeks. Today there are both indoor and outdoor forms of foot racing. The most common forms of racing are sprints, hurdles and relays. Distances of the races vary. The first marathon race in modern times was organized in 1896. It was approximately 22 miles in distance. Today, the marathon is around 24 miles. The first Olympic marathon for women was held in 1928. Today, there are many different marathons, usually organized by a specific charity, such as breast cancer, within a city.

Horse racing has also been around for centuries. The ancient Romans and Egyptians had a fascination for chariot racing. It continues to this day, although it is referred to as horse and buggy racing. There is also thoroughbred racing, with a trained rider (jockey) on a saddle on the horse’s back. One of the most popular forms of horse racing in the United States is the Triple Crown, made up of three separate races in different locations: The Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes. There are also races in which the horse must jump over obstacles set up on a measured track.

Bicycle racing is an Olympic sport today. The first known race was held in Paris in 1865. There are many forms of bicycle racing today, including on and off road, mountain bike, track, BMX and cycle speedway. One of the best known races is the Tour de France. American cyclist Lance Armstrong has won this event seven times.

Automobile racing began in 1894 and has continued in various forms until the present. The races usually depend on the distance travelled in particular types of cars. There is stock car, drag, rally, off road, sports car racing, Formula One (NASCAR) and other forms of racing. While distance is a factor in racing, speed is usually still the most important factor. The fastest speed recorded at the Indianapolis 500 was achieved by Eddie Cheever in 1996 when his race car reached 236.103 miles per hour.

Motorcycle racing is an enormously popular sport, and, like automobile racing, it comes in a variety of forms, including drag, sidecar, and supercross. There is also motocross racing, an amateur level sport. WERA is the national organization for the advancement, operation and sanctioning of motorcycle road racing. WERA sponsors sprint and distance races.

The first aircraft race was held in 1909, six years after the Wright Brothers flew the first airplane. It was held in Reims, France, and covered the distance from France to England. A race from England to Australia was instituted later, with most of the entrants being commercial airliners. It was discontinued after the outbreak of World War Two. In the United States, the National and Cleveland Air Races were initiated in the 1920s. In 1929, the Women’s Air Derby was created as part of the National Air Races. Today the Red Bull Air Race World Series is held annually. It features 11 pilots who compete against time on two passes over the designated course.

Ships and boats have long been used as racing vehicles. There have been some unusual races as well. Even bathtubs have been used in racing events. Depending on the type of propulsion used, aquatic races vary in time and speed.

It is a steering tool that maintains your balance when you drive it towards your way. It is also believed handlebars also support a portion of the rider’s weight on the bicycle or any driving mechanism. It is also somehow equivalent to the steering wheel mechanism used in four wheeler vehicles. You cannot think of a bicycle without a handlebar. If it removed you cannot drive it. This is one such essential part of bicycle that drives your bicycle wherever you want. Handlebars are specially designed for all different kinds of bicycles in different styles. It is manufactured keeping in view the different types of riding styles for any kind of riders.

Generally handlebars are made of aluminum alloys but it also made of some other metals. These metals can be steel, titanium, carbon fibre or some other alloys. Drop handlebars also have sometimes two or more longitudinal indentations. Raiser or flat bars are standard bars used for mountain bikes, fixed gear bikes. It is straight but slightly bent towards rider.

Upright is also known as Townie because it has seen an upgrade in popularity on some of hybrid models and city bikes. Actually these are bars are swept back facing towards the rider. Touring type bars are known as “Butterfly” as it seen as broken figure of eight arrangement mounted horizontally on the stem. Mlm Pro Vs Mlm Distributors: What They Do Different That Make Lot Of Money In Recession? (Part 1)

Afraid the recession is here to stay a bit longer? If so, you’re not alone. But it doesn’t take a recession to create problems for your business. Even if things are going great right now, you need business generating strategies when times are tough. Some of MLM distributors fear a recession; reason that if the economy is poor, customers will cut back their budget and stop spending.

This is true to a certain degree. A recession can be a problem for your business, or it can be an opportunity to gain new clients and boost sales. The different is MLM Pro use marketing and sales methods that work best in recession.

The following are some of the strategies that MLM Pro use to maintain and even increase their sales, while most MLM distributors struggle to stay afloat.

1) Wake up your dormant customers/distributors

This means calling up your customers/distributors used to be buying your products or doing the business at one time but for some reasons, they stopped.

The quick and easy way is look for your customers/distributors list and give them a call. Your purpose is to get in touch with them and find out their current situation.

You will be surprised to find out that they may actually be more open to your presentation as their life circumstances may have change as time passed.

You may want to meet up to strengthen your rapport, credibility and trust with them.

Remember to present your case in term of your client’s interest and offer them the appropriate benefits that they are looking for.

You may even want to teach your distributors and help them to do the same. Sometime, you may want to take over the list and work all the ways to wake up a sleeping giant.

This is not the time to be calculative and remember you still benefit even if it is a few levels deep. You will be enjoying the overriding commissions and may “wake up” their upline as well.

What you need to do is just make a call to offer them your help to grow their business. Isn’t that simple? But there is lots of people just don’t do it.

DO NOT START HARD SELLING on your products and business opportunity when you called. You will fall flat on your face.

If you are not comfortable to call them for various reasons, you may want to send a postcard, some interesting articles or testimonials from your customers to them. This will serve the same purpose as calling them up.

I have seen at least one in ten responded to this type of wake up call. You never know that you may actually discover a goldmine.

This strategy alone increases your group sales volumes and put money into your pocket.

2) Contact your old leads

If you are like most of the MLM distributors, you most probably called a lead once or twice. If they didn’t response, you most probably give up and forget about them.

Most of the leads that you give up may turn into a profitable customer or distributor. Studies have shown that most salesperson regardless of industry give up too early in the sales cycle.

We all know that it takes at least 7 “no” to turn a prospect into customer. But most salesperson is gone before that.

The best way to contact your old leads is to call them out and find out their current situation. During the conversion, you can find out what is their immediate needs and if they are looking for a solution.

This works best for leads not older than one year.

This strategy will work for you provided you respect every person whom you meet. It is very important that during your initial sales contact with prospect, you leave a good impression with them. You must be helpful, knowledgeable and caring towards everyone you meet. Nobody will like to talk to you again if you are prude and snobbish. It is crucial that you never shut your back door. You never know when you need them again. Most of the time when you need them again, it could be life saving.

Most of these re contacted leads are willing to meet up with you for a further discussion. At least 25 to 40% will become your customers or distributors if you can fulfill their needs.

Applying these basic strategies will keep your busy and put money in your pocket. I will share with you some other advanced strategies some other times.

What Makes a Woman’s Specific Road Bike Different?

When it comes to buying a road bike, it is important to make sure that you are buying your own bike instead of having someone else pick it out for you. This is especially true for women, as what may work wonderful for someone of the male gender may not work as well for you. In fact, most of the bikes you see on the showroom floor are designed for the proportions of the average male. Since women are built much differently it is beneficial to make sure that there are bikes for the women gender.

In most cases, women have shorter torsos and arms and longer legs then a male that is of the same height. The feet and hands of a woman are generally on the smaller side and the shoulders of a female are narrower. Along with narrower shoulders, women also have wider hips. These are the reasons many women find that they cannot ride comfortable on a bike that is made to fit a man.

But by making sure that the woman’s bike has shorter stems, shorter cranks, smaller handlebars, and a wider saddle. There are even women’s road bikes out there that have a set tube angle that is steeper and a taller head tube, which makes riding a lot easier. These adjustments, while they may seem silly and unnecessary to some people, have a lot of reasoning behind them.

The wider saddle for the woman’s road bike will ensure that there is no tissue damage by not having a sit that fully accommodates the sit bones of a woman. The brakes and shifters are adjusted to fit smaller hands so that it is easier for the woman to control the bike. And the shorter bars that are easier to reach help to make sure that there is not too much strain placed on the arms and back of the woman in the attempt to ride the road bike.

Maybe though, you still do not feel as though these generic women’s bikes are going to work for you. If you have a little bit of money and time to spend then you can always ordered a custom made women’s designed road bike. The bike will be designed to fit around you, your particular riding style, and your personal tastes. This means that you will really be able to become one with the bike and you will be able to ride for much longer periods of time without becoming strained.

So now that you are aware of the differences between a woman’s specific road bike and a regular designed bike that was made with the male gender in mind, why would you go with anything else? You have not only your posture to consider but also your muscles as well. Make sure that you are protecting your body and making sure that you will be able to enjoy all of your bike rides from now on. Either pick up a regular women’s designed road bike or design your own and begin to truly enjoy riding.
